I visited Pillings Lock cafe bar for the first time on Saturday, and was so impressed that I have been recommending it to all my friends. A tranquil setting, good food at reasonable prices and friendly staff – what more can you want.
Many thanks for your kind comments! Your observations are exactly what we’re aiming to do and we’re so pleased you had a nice time here…please come again soon! PL

We dropped by after seeing your advert in the Loughborough echo. Your cafe/bar, is wonderful, and staff so nice, that we cannot wait to come again. I shall be recommending you to family, friend and collegues.

Such a relaxing experience and exceptional service and such a beautiful setting.

    Good luck in your venture.

We visited a couple of weeks ago for a drink, lovely setting, very contemporary. Went back last week for meal, excellent! A great evening. All very pleasing, would like some outside lights though but such a lovely oasis. What a find.

  5. 5 Tanya & Deefer the Ridgeback dog November 21, 2008 at 2:28 pm

Each time we have been to ‘The Boathouse’ it has been fabulous! Even sat on the terrace & had coffee & poached egg on taost – much needed after a long dog walk! Everyone seems very friendly, even with Deefer the Ridgeback dog, but we do put the dogs into the car if we are goin into the cafe! I must say it is briiliant to find somewhere that you can sit outside with your dog & no-one passes a bad comment (yet!?) Brill food, hope to try Xmas, Evening and maybe opush the boat out & have a lunch too! Wish you all the success in the world.

Just to say we had a lovely evening last night (even though it was rather full). The “Baritones” were very entertaining and a credit to their school.A good night all round and especially for their chosen charity.WELL DONE LADS not forgetting the bar staff.

We too had a great evening, a great meal to start, the steak was perfect, followed by a great bunch of lads who despite their inexperience entertained us royally. Thanks to all of those people i bullied in to giving so generously to a worthy cause. The Merlot gets better Paul!

I don’t normally post comments, either good or bad, on sites but I just had to this time. We had a lovely relaxing Christmas Day thanks to all the staff at the Cafebar. We had a superb Christmas Lunch – the food was fantastic (the cheescake was to die for) and the table settings were lovely (thanks Alex and Maria). Maria, Chris, Paul, Carol and John worked so hard to ensure the waiting service was spot-on and the atmosphere was great. This was our first Christmas afloat and we thoroughly enjoyed it, Thank you all
It was lovely to have you all in for Chrstmas Day Lunch Angi & Tony! We were all so pleased to have so many boaters in for Christmas Day and thanks for your very kind comments.

I am joint social secretary of a local ME support group and you have been recommended as a possible venue for one of our impromptu social get togethers. I would not be able to book definite numbers as it is an informal arrangement and people just turn up on the day if they are able. There are normally around a dozen of us and we will eat anything from snacks to a full meal. Would it be feasible for us to bring our group there and would it be a good idea to let you know in advance which day we would be coming?

We are looking for new venues and your cafe looks to be in a perfect setting for us.

    Thank you for your help.

Visited cafe/restaurant for first time 22 March for morning coffee. Pleasantly surprised to find the cafe/bar even nicer than webpage showed. Lovely surroundings and will definitely visit again, possibly with group for lunch or breakfast. Would recommend.

    Hi Guys

Just wanted to say ‘thanks’ to Pat your chef, I’ve been working really long hours at the airport Wednesday and Thursday this week and he kindly cooked a great meal on both nights – I’m particularly grateful for his efforts on Wednesday as I was the only one eating and arrived late, when he was packing up.

Great service and most welcome food.

    yours aye

    Dear Lorraine
Just to let you know, that last week my daughter and I came to Pillings Lock for light lunch, and I’m pleased to report that the standard was excellent. Although we did only have bagettes (bet I’ve spelt that wrong!) the presentation, quality and quantity of the food was as it had been when I first came to you late last year, early this year. The whole experience last week was a delight. My daughter had never been and was impressed too. My husband is still debating whether to revisit or not, but hopefully now my daughter is impressed he will.
I would like to wish all at Pillings Lock good luck for a very successful business.
    Yours with Thanks
    Debbie
