James’ Charity Bike Ride

James Warren, owner of  mini-narrowboat “Wren” and the “Little Boat House” on D jetty has decided to do something very extraordinary in the name of Charity. He’s cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats starting on 13th June 2009.

A sponsorship form is in the cafe OR pledge your amounts by email me at the office pillingslock@btinternet.com.

We (Pilling’s Lock) are sponsoring him £100 for this tremedous feat…and it will probably be worth it to get a 2 week break (only joking James!!!)

Seriously, this is an amazing trip which James is doing solo and funding himself so PLEASE give generously as all proceeds go to Peter le Marchant Trust in Loughborough.

New Gallery Pictures!

There was some service work done this week on the local power lines and we got them to take some pictures for us – have a look at our Gallery page for the fantastic views of the marina and area…just a shame the sun wasn’t out!

Mooring Fees for 2009/2010 Reduced!

Some good news for all our annual contract moorers – we have decided to reduce our mooring fees for the next year to help our customers with the current financial climate and encourage new bookings and increased occupancy at Pilling’s Lock.

New fees will be available on our website shortly and we’d like to ask all our current customers to help keep the marina looking as presentable as possible by keeping the jetties clear & tidy to reduce our on-site maintenance and help our berth sales grow as quickly as possible.

More details of how this will affect all marina users will be made clear in a further Berth Holders meeting which we will plan in for Monday 18th May 2009 at the Boat-House.

All the best – from the Pilling’s Lock Team.
